Types of Visa in UAE for Working

 1. Standard Working Visa (Residency Visa)

It is typically valid for two years and can be renewed if the employer wishes to retain the employee. This visa, often referred to as a residency visa, allows you to live and work in the UAE without restrictions on entering or leaving the country as long as the visa is valid.

Employers are responsible for applying for the residency visa once the employee arrives in the UAE. The process generally takes about 60 days.

Additionally, self-employed individuals can also obtain a residency visa, enabling them to live, work, and conduct business in the UAE.

 2. Green Visa

The green visa is for freelancers, self-employed individuals, and skilled professionals.

It offers more flexibility than the standard residency visa, as it does not require a sponsor from a UAE employer. You can sponsor your visa under this category.

To be eligible for a green visa, you need to meet certain requirements:

• Proof of a bachelor’s degree or specialized diploma.
• For self-employed applicants: Proof of income over the past two years, amounting to at least AED 360,000.
• For skilled workers: You must have a valid employment contract, be classified in the first, second, or third occupational level by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, hold at least a bachelor’s degree, and earn a monthly salary of AED 15,000 or more.

 3. Golden Visa

The golden visa provides long-term residency, allowing expatriates to live, work, and do business in the UAE without needing to renew their visa for up to 5 or 10 years.

This visa is self-sponsored, meaning you don’t need a sponsor from an employer, and you can also sponsor your family members.
